Meditation refers to a broad variety of practices that promote relaxation, build internal energy or life force and develop compassion, love, patience, generosity and forgiveness. These practices explore the inner world with and without thoughts and feelings, cultivating a deep sense of awareness and bringing us into the present moment. Judgments, desires and stories of the past or future melt away into an experience of peace and contentment. Being present and aware cultivates higher levels of consciousness, which in turn creates space for creativity, happiness and love.
